MONTREAL, July 8, 2013 /CNW/ - Sun Life Financial is donating $50,000 to the Red Cross to assist and support residents of Lac-Mégantic after the tragic events in their town this past weekend.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with Mayor Colette Roy-Provencher, the firemen, families, citizens and business community of Lac-Mégantic at this terrible time. "We hope our donation to the Red Cross will help supply certain essential needs to evacuated families, such as information, food, shelter, clothing and other basic necessities. We also want to pay tribute to all the volunteers who have been working tirelessly since Saturday morning to support the Lac-Mégantic community."
