/CNW/ - With Sunday night in the books, Premiere Week 2009 has wrapped and CTV has once again emerged as the overwhelming choice for prime-time viewing in
Canada
. Averaging nearly two million viewers (1.95 million) per minute - every minute - CTV finished 58% bigger than Global (1.2 million), 215% bigger than CBC (621,000) and 453% bigger than Citytv (353,000)*.
Last night, THE AMAZING RACE (
9 p.m. ET
) had nearly three million (2.86 million) total viewers tuning-in - an increase of 32% over last season's finale episode(xx). Following as the No. 2 program of the night was COLD CASE (
10p.m. ET
) with 1.54 million total viewers, nearly doubling the season premiere audience of BROTHERS & SISTERS (Global/ABC, 787,000) in the same timeslot. Coming in just behind at No. 3 for the night was DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES with 1.44 million watching at
7 p.m. ET
, airing out of simulcast on CTV and beating CBC's broadcast of
Harry Potter
and the Order of the
Phoenix
(1.36 million).
