TORONTO, May 2, 2014 /CNW/ - Sunrise Medical Canada Inc. announces its 8th Annual Co-ed Beach Volleyball Tournament which will be taking place at Beach Blast (15 Leswyn Road, Toronto) on Saturday, May 3rd, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. The goal for this tournament is to have fun while raising money. This year, all funds raised will be donated to Wheelchair Basketball Canada who will host the Women's World Wheelchair Basketball Championship in Toronto from June 20-28, 2014.
With the ongoing AODA legislation implementation in Ontario, this type of event is vital to promoting early awareness for the general population. Competing manufacturing companies from the assistive devices industry, several dealers, service providers and health professionals will gather on May 3rd for a friendly competition for this important cause. We need your support and for you to attend this important event!
The money raised for the Smash Serve and Volley Beach Volleyball Tournament will support the new Wheelchair Basketball Canada Schools Program, which is a legacy initiative designed to educate teachers and students about the sport and encourage youth, with or without a disability, to be physically active. The program allows a demonstration team to visit local schools and gives students the opportunity to try the sport alongside athlete role models in their community.
