Sunset Cove Completes Second Diamond Drill Hole at Carolay Silver Property
MONTREAL, June 21, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - Sunset Cove Completes Second Diamond Drill Hole at Carolay Silver Property June 21, 2012 Toronto, ON (TSX: SSM) (BVL: SSM) The second hole of this years diamond drill program has been finalized. The hole DDH-06 went to a depth of 301 meters and has again crossed two structures. The most important of these being the Carolay Vein at 193.06 meters and the Carolay 1 Vein at 226 meters.
"We stopped DDH-06 at this depth after having achieved our goal of crossing the two known important structures in Anomaly #1," said Lorne Woods, President of Sunset Cove. "The logging of the core has confirmed that we have multiple mineralized structures at a different depth and location from DDH-07 which shows a continuity of the structures."
The Carolay vein was found at 193.06 to 194.60 meters and contained Small Iron oxide vein 4%, small manganese oxides veins 2%, small marmatite veins 3% and muscovite crystals 2%.
The Carolay 1 vein was found between 234.80 to 234.87 meters. There is a fault with content of iron oxides.
Sunset expects the results of the assaying of the core to be ready within the next two to three weeks.
The preparation of DDH-05 is underway and it should be collared in a couple of days. This hole is designed to cross the know structures at a different angle and will again provide more information to Sunset Cove.
In addition Sunset is set to begin surface exploration work on the Maranon sector of the Carolay property. Early exploration work has identified similarities here to that of the well-known Pataz Batholith a prolific gold producing sector just to the east on the other side of the Maranon River.
