New Christmas movie premieres every weekend in November and December
25 new holiday movie premieres, including 16 Canadian made features
EDMONTON, Sept. 25, 2018 /CNW/ - Super Channel is getting into the festive spirit early this year with the launch of Heart & Home Christmas, a new holiday programming event, which will establish Super Channel Heart & Home as the destination for Christmas movie viewing in Canada.
"Super Channel Heart & Home will become the destination of choice for Canadian viewers when it comes to Christmas programming," said Don McDonald, President and CEO of Super Channel. "To that end, we are launching our first annual Heart & Home Christmas. We have worked extensively with our distribution and production partners to build on our Heart & Home brand to bring viewers an unrivalled collection of heartwarming, family-friendly, Christmas themed movies as seen on Hallmark, UPtv, Lifetime and ION in the US. All of which will air commercial free and be available on Super Channel On Demand throughout the holiday season and beyond."
Heart & Home Christmas kicks off on November 9 at 8 p.m. ET with the holiday classic White Christmas. This will be followed by a new movie premiere every Friday, Saturday and Sunday in November and every Thursday to Sunday in December. In all, a total of 55* Christmas features will air, 35 of which are new to Super Channel Heart & Home and includes 25 titles making their Canadian premieres. The programming event will feature a wide variety of Christmas movies throughout the afternoon and into primetime, with up to 14 hours of Christmas themed programming per day. In total, over 560 hours** of Christmas content will air between November 9 and December 25.
The Canadian made Hallmark original movie, Marrying Father Christmas, is the first of 16 Canadian made holiday movies set to debut during Heart & Home's festive line-up, which will culminate on December 25 with the When Calls the Heart Christmas special. In total, over 70% of all Heart & Home Christmas content is Canadian.
The Heart & Home Christmas programming event will be supported with the "Twelve Days of Christmas" giveaway, an online promotion which will run from December 7th to 18th and offer viewers 12 days of Christmas themed gifts and prize packs. In addition, Super Channel Heart & Home will be introducing its first annual Christmas Ornament, to be given away to lucky viewers throughout the festive season. The programming event will be supported extensively on-air and online with a dedicated webpage, as well as across all Super Channel social media platforms.
