Supporting Aboriginal Achievements - Government of Canada provides funding for 2014 Indspire Awards that honour 14 outstanding individuals

WINNIPEG, March 21, 2014 /CNW/ - The Government of Canada has provided $226,000 for the 2014 Indspire Awards, which are taking place tonight at the Centennial Concert Hall. Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages Shelly Glover made the announcement today.

The awards show showcases the successes of 14 Aboriginal people, including 3 Aboriginal youth, from various sectors such as health, law, political science, culture and arts.

• This is the 21^st edition of the annual Indspire Awards.
• A 90-minute version of the awards event will be broadcast nationally on APTN and Global in the spring, and DVDs of the broadcast will be distributed to schools and communities.
