The Government of Canada has provided more than $15,800,000 to Newfoundland and Labrador organizations since 2016
BAY ROBERTS, NL, Aug. 2, 2018 /CNW/ - Today Sean Casey, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Canadian Heritage, was in Bay Roberts to highlight the support provided by the Government of Canada to arts, culture and multiculturalism organizations. He was accompanied by Ken McDonald, Member of Parliament (Avalon).
On behalf of the Honourable Pablo Rodriguez, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Multiculturalism, Mr. Casey announced that the Government of Canada has provided $15,892,533 in funding to organizations in Newfoundland and Labrador since 2016.
This funding has been provided in support of 762 initiatives promoting arts, heritage and multicultural initiatives throughout the province.

Projects have received support through the following programs of the Department of Canadian Heritage: the Aboriginal People's Program, Building Communities Through Arts and Heritage, the Canada Arts Presentation Fund, the Canada Book Fund, the Canada Cultural Investment Fund, the Canada Cultural Spaces Fund, the Canada Periodical Fund, Celebrate Canada, the Multiculturalism Program and the Museums Assistance Program.
A total of $4,374,133 in support from the Official Languages Funding Programs was shared among 46 projects in 4 communities across the province for the fiscal years 2016–17 to 2018–19.
