Of Those, More Than One-Quarter Want a More Fulfilling Job
TORONTO, June 17, 2020 /CNW/ - After months of maneuvering through the coronavirus crisis, many employees are rethinking what's most important when it comes to their career, new research from global staffing firm Robert Half suggests. Nearly half of office professionals surveyed (47 per cent) said they have experienced a shift in their feelings toward work due to the pandemic. Of those:
- 60 per cent are more motivated to be employed at an organization that values its staff during unpredictable times
- 43 per cent will prioritize their personal life over their job moving forward
- 29 per cent want to pursue a more meaningful or fulfilling position
"After months of change, businesses and individuals alike are evaluating their priorities and goals for the future," said David King, senior district president of Robert Half in Canada. "As professionals reflect on what it is that drives them, it's clear that many are more motivated to work at an organization whose vision and values align with their own."
King added, "As hiring begins to pick up again, employees may start weighing their career options. Now is the time for companies to underscore their mission and commitment to the greater community, while remaining attentive and flexible in responding to employee needs."
