MONTREAL, Sept. 27, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton is proud to announce its accreditation under ISO 14065 by the Standards Council of Canada (SCC) as part of the Greenhouse Gas Accreditation Program. This accreditation positions the firm among GHG verification leaders, as it is the first Canadian enterprise to receive this accreditation from the SCC.
"We are very proud to receive this accreditation, which is a stamp of quality for our clients, because it recognizes that Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton and its professionals comply with the specifications set out for validating and verifying GHG assertions. The accreditation also recognizes that we are familiar with measuring and reporting GHG emissions, their reduction or removal under the requirements set out in the ISO standard's three parts," explained Johanne Gélinas, Partner in Charge of the Sustainability and GHG Management practice.
With this accreditation, the SCC recognizes that Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton's GHG emissions verification practices comply with the requirements set out in ISO 14065 for GHG validation and verification bodies. The accreditation also enables the firm to perform inventory verification for large GHG emitters (more than 25,000 tonnes of CO2 per year) in accordance with the Quebec government's Regulation respecting mandatory reporting of certain emissions of contaminants into the atmosphere. The firm can now also provide GHG inventory verification services for enterprises wishing to obtain certifications regarding their GHG management approach.
Therefore, this accreditation enhances Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton's GHG emissions management service offering, which already includes GHG inventory services as well as GHG reduction quantification and verification services.
