Syncrude invests $750,000 in aquatics centre
FORT McMURRAY, AB, Sept. 13 /CNW/ - Syncrude Canada Ltd. is the latest oil sands company to come on board to support the new multi-leisure facility located on MacDonald Island with a donation of $750,000 over three years. The funds will go directly towards the Syncrude Aquatics Centre located within the Suncor Community Leisure Centre.
"We're are very proud to support a first-class facility that helps ensure families and young people in the community have access to quality aquatics and recreational opportunities that are an important part of a healthy life," said Syncrude President and CEO Scott Sullivan.
Syncrude has been a long-time supporter of recreational opportunities within Wood Buffalo and found the right fit in supporting the newly named Syncrude Aquatics Centre.
"MacDonald Island Park is incredibly excited for Syncrude's support of our brand new Aquatic Centre," said Tim Reid, Chief Operating Officer at MacDonald Island Park. "This new partnership is truly an example of turning a bright aquatic vision into reality for our community. Not only will this partnership provide a world-class facility for the community to enjoy, but it will also ensure community members have access to aquatic programming for years to come."
