Industry leader to enhance hematology equipment at 12 sites across Ontario and British Columbia, for greater efficiency and test standardization
MISSISSAUGA, Ontario, Dec. 7, 2017 /CNW/ -- LifeLabs, Canada's largest laboratory service provider, awarded Sysmex Canada, a leader in automated diagnostic technology, a contract to upgrade and expand LifeLabs' hematology testing capability with new equipment. In 2018, Sysmex Canada will replace LifeLabs' hematology analyzers at 12 sites throughout British Columbia and Ontario and extend their partnership for another five years.
The companies' partnership will enhance productivity, efficiency and collaboration at all LifeLabs locations, while reducing processing time with key Sysmex diagnostic solutions. Sysmex will provide scalable solutions, across 12 LifeLabs locations customized for the labs' needs. For example, locations with greater testing volume will benefit from Sysmex's XN-Series of hematology technology, paired with integrated digital morphology. While locations with less testing volume will benefit from standardization of equipment with larger labs.
Key outcomes sought from the agreement include reductions in waste and time needed to replace reagents, greater efficiency with digital morphology capability and optimized cross-lab communication.
"Sysmex Canada's solution provides us with a reliable and cutting-edge hematology platform from an industry leader that optimizes throughput and streamlines operations," says Pierre Bou-Mansour, chief operating officer at LifeLabs. "This technology will help us deliver standardized reporting across all of our testing facilities for our patients and health care providers and continue to provide best-in-class care that benefits Canadians."
After a rigorous RFP process, LifeLabs selected Sysmex. The agreement is a testament to the innovative approach to high-quality health care delivery both companies are known for.
"LifeLabs has a consistent reputation for delivering reliable testing innovations that benefit patients, providers and care delivery," said Carl Rocha, general manager for Sysmex Canada. "The proven precision, reliability and scalability of Sysmex technology, like lab automation and connectivity, will deliver results to match LifeLabs' reputation for quality and innovation now and in the future. We are honored to be in partnership with LifeLabs and support their efforts to continue supplying quality patient care with greater automation efficiency and faster results."
