TORONTO, April 13 /CNW/ - T4G Limited, a leading North American full-service, project-based technology services company, has been named to the annual Best Workplaces in Canada list for the third consecutive year.
T4G moved up into the 15th position - its highest standing to date - to sit among such technology heavyweights as Google (third place) and Microsoft (seventh place).
"We are delighted to be included on the list of great places to work in Canada once again, but having our people tell us that they love being part of the T4G team is the ultimate accolade," says T4G President Geoff Flood. "This honour is something we truly appreciate. It is a reflection of the unique culture here at T4G."
The Best Workplaces winners were featured in today's Globe and Mail newspaper. Seventy-five companies make the list after some 30,000 employees at Canadian companies are randomly selected to complete a survey and then all applying companies face an in-depth review of their culture and procedures by the Great Workplace Institute Canada.
Many things make T4G unique, including:
- The company is committed to winning the war for talent by opening offices where smart people want to live; in Halifax, Moncton, Saint John, Toronto, Vancouver and Portland, Maine. Other T4G locations in talent-rich - and lifestyle rich - areas of North America are planned. - T4G is a socially responsible corporation when it comes to the environment, and giving back to its communities. Indeed, a division of the company called the Future Focus Foundation, a registered charity with the federal government, raises money for charities that help young people succeed. - T4G is a flat, roles-based organization where business units and teams are managed in a "federal" portfolio of talented professionals and teams which come together to build the best solutions and take on the most challenging and complex assignments. And the corporate philosophy is to create jobs in North America, a "near shore" approach versus the all-too-common way of shipping IT jobs offshore.
Says Mr. Flood, "Everything we do at T4G ties back to a simple rule - put your heart into it and do the right thing. This mindset is engrained in how we relate to each other, our clients, our products and our communities."
The IT industry, clients and even the media are taking note. On November 2, 2009, award-winning business writer Gordon Pitts in the Globe and Mail's Report on Business noted: "If Canada is to have an economic future, it needs bosses like Geoff Flood."
The Great Workplace Institute Canada is affiliated to the U.S.- based Great Place to Work Institute, an international leader in understanding and promoting the attitudes and behaviours that distinguish great workplaces.
T4G now has more than 225 employees and the firm has information technology capabilities that span application development, business intelligence, technology infrastructure, content, design, user experience and more.
