Taiga Announces Senior Management Succession Plans
BURNABY, BC, Jan. 13, 2015 /CNW/ - Taiga Building Products Ltd. ("Taiga" or the "Company") (TSX:TBL) announced today that its Board of Directors has approved a succession plan for members of Taiga's senior management.
Cam White, CEO, to Retire
Effective March 31, 2015, Cam White will step down as CEO. Cam is a founding member of what has become the modern day Taiga Building Products organization and has been directly involved in the growth of the company since its inception in 1973. Cam has occupied the role of President and CEO since March 31, 2010 and prior to that held a number of roles with the company including sales manager, Vice President, and Chief Operating Officer. Cam spent the last several years focused on developing a succession plan for the organization and will continue on with the organization in a consulting role supporting management while also continuing with his responsibilities as a director of the Company.
Trent Balog, New CEO
Taiga is pleased to announce that Trent Balog, currently Taiga's Executive Vice President Operations and COO, will be assuming the position of CEO effective March 31, 2015. Trent has been with the company since 1994 holding a number of different roles including pressure treated wood sales manager, Vice President – Western Canadian Operations and most recently Chief Operating Officer. Trent has been active in the industry for over 30 years holding management roles with MacMillan Bloedel prior to joining Taiga. Under Trent's direction there is a new senior executive team that has been assembled to lead the company going forward.
Senior Executive Team – Reporting to the CEO
Grant Sali, Executive VP, Supply Management & Chief Procurement Officer
Grant Sali will continue to lead the procurement side of the business. Grant is a Taiga and industry veteran who has been with the company since 1990 holding a number of roles including branch manager, Vice President of US Operations and Treated Wood and most recently EVP, Supply.
Mark Schneidereit-Hsu, VP Finance and Administration & Chief Financial Officer
Mark will continue to lead the accounting, finance, HR and IT functions for the business. Mark has been with the company since 2005 and has held a number of roles with increasing responsibility. Mark is an MBA and a CPA, CMA and has held the role of CFO since 2013. Prior to becoming CFO Mark held the position of Manager, Corporate Planning.
Russ Permann, Executive VP Operations & Chief Operating Officer
Russ will assume the role of leading the branch operations of the business. Russ holds an MBA and has been with Taiga since September 2008. He has previously held the roles of General Manager – Engineered Wood Products, Vice President - Western Canada and most recently Vice President - Prairie Operations, Envirofor Preservers and US Operations.
