MONTRÉAL, Oct. 4, 2016 /CNW Telbec/ - The Réseau Technoscience is pleased to officially launch the 2016–2017 Hydro-Québec Science Fairs, all across Québec. Students at every school in the province are invited to be part of the Science Fairs adventure and the various rounds of competition: the local, regional and Québec finals, the Canada-Wide Science Fair, and even the international finals!
Illusionist Luc Langevin, Hydro-Québec Science Fairs spokesperson, and Réal Laporte, Honorary Chair of the Hydro-Québec Science Fairs, who is President of Hydro-Québec Innovation, équipement et services partagés as well as President and CEO of Société d'énergie de la Baie James, were on hand to speak to the invited guests.
"It gives me great pleasure to invite young people everywhere to embark on the Hydro-Québec Science Fairs adventure," Mr. Langevin said. "The simplest of ideas can be the spark for a science project that will open the door to a memorable shared human experience! From the local final at your school to the regional and Québec finals, each level of competition holds the promise of unforgettable surprises, exchanges and encounters. And it all starts right now, in your school."
Hydro-Québec is proud to be associated with Expo-sciences and to encourage the 15,000 talented students who take part in the competition every year. As a partner of this event for over 25 years now, we are proud to reiterate our commitment for the next three years," said Réal Laporte, President of Hydro-Québec's Innovation, équipement et services partagés division and President and CEO of the Société d'énergie de la Baie James.
Win a visit to your local final by Luc Langevin!
All teachers taking part in the Science Fairs program with their students are eligible to enter the Réseau Technoscience contest for a chance to win a very special visit to their local final by Luc Langevin on Monday, December 12. "For the past five years, I've been discovering students' projects at the Science Fair regional and Québec finals. This year, I'll be getting a look at them right at the beginning. So I'm looking forward to the opportunity to see even more amazing ideas and fascinating projects!" Mr. Langevin said enthusiastically.
