New skill brings buckets of pleasant poultry puns; voice-activated delivery coming early 2018
TORONTO, Dec. 6, 2017 /CNW/ - KFC Canada has developed a skill for the new-to-Canada Amazon Echo, bringing finger lickin' fun to homes across the country. The hands-free, voice-first skill is available nationwide on all Alexa devices like the Amazon Echo - after all, fingers are for lickin', not for clickin'.
The skill, which is available in the Alexa skills store under the name "KFC Canada", will see Alexa feed you chicken jokes, pick-up lines, random chicken thoughts, references to chicken in pop culture, and much more.
Chicken chats aren't the only thing available in the skill; you can also play the Colonel's Quiz, a pop culture trivia game with a chicken twist: decode famous names, titles, and quotes that have been "chickenfied."
"For modern families looking to spend time together over the holidays, what better way than by gathering around a warm bucket of chicken and testing your knowledge with the Colonel's Quiz with your loved ones?" said Mew-Lin Teh, Digital Marketing Manager, KFC Canada. "The Colonel would approve of these good old-fashioned family values with a modern, original twist."
Whether it's the recordable Mother's Day bucket or the convenience of ordering delivery online, technology helps establish modern and original ways to deliver a finger lickin' good experience to fans and customers alike.
"Our work with Alexa is another bold signifier of KFC Canada's emphasis on digital innovation in the QSR industry," said Teh. "By embracing these technologies, we're enhancing the way we communicate with Canadians and are effectively creating connected experiences across all customer touchpoints."
KFC fans looking to have their favourite bucket of chicken delivered to their doorstep will be able to do so through voice-operated delivery integration. Complete delivery integration is expected to be available in early 2018.
How the Skill Works:
- To download the skill, search for "KFC Canada" in the Alexa skills store or the Alexa app.
- To open the skill, say "Ask KFC to Talk Chicken to Me". From there, Alexa will deliver the chicken chat straight to your living room.
- To enter the game, open the skill and simply ask Alexa to "Start the Colonel's Quiz".
