MONTREAL, Dec. 6, 2018 /CNW Telbec/ - Sue Montgomery, mairesse of CDN-NDG, met this morning with Philippe Roy, mayor of Town of Mount Royal, regarding the renewal of a long-standing agreement that gives CDN-NDG residents living in Glenmount access to TMR recreational facilities.
For years, CDN-NDG has been paying approximately $130,000 for 1800 Glenmount residents to have such access, an amount Mayor Montgomery finds too high.
"While I fully understand Glenmount residents' affinity with and proximity to TMR, I have to consider what is fair for all residents of CDN-NDG," Mayor Montgomery said. "And I am confident we can find a solution that is favourable to all."
Talks will continue in good faith in the hopes that Glenmount residents will be able to enrol in spring season activities at the same as TMR residents. In the meantime, they are still able to pay to use the services and enrol in activities and courses for the winter session as of December 7, if there is space remaining.
