MONTREAL, Sept. 16 /CNW Telbec/ - A unique and spectacular Québec happening, the first edition of Tall Ships on the Quays, will feature four days of events from September 16 to 19, 2010. The Jacques-Cartier Quay will transform itself into a "Maritime Village", a veritable celebration in which sails, winds, and River serve as the link between a series of artistic and cultural offerings.
Author, composer, and performer Wilfred Le Bouthillier, himself an experienced ship's captain, will proudly act as the event's spokesperson.
This authentic maritime celebration on the Quays of the Old Port of Montréal will welcome, for its very first edition, five prestigious tall ships that are rich in both history and adventure!

From September 17 to 19, the celebration features a free continuous, varied, and well paced program for young and old alike: musical performances and fantasy characters that will mix with the crowd, story tellers, gatherings and conferences by experienced navigators sailors' knots workshops, and much more! More than 20 big tents will line the Maritime Village on the Quays of the Old Port. And, come sundown, as the music continues on the Maritime Village stage, the spotlight will literally be on the Tall Ships that will illuminate the Quays.
FREE, Saturday, September 18, 2010: music and fireworks displays
In addition to the evening activities planned for Saturday, September 18, Tall Ships on the Quays will feature the spokesperson for its 1st edition, Wilfred Le Bouthillier, in a special performance highlighting his musical talents. At 7:00 p.m. on the Maritime Village stage. The evening will reach its peak at 9:00 p.m. with fireworks that will light up the sky above the tall ships over dramatic background: an operatic aria performed by soprano Gloria Polcari.
