Tall Ships on the Quays - A new annual rendezvous on the Quays of the Old

MONTREAL, June 18 /CNW Telbec/ - This summer, an unique and spectacular event will be held in Montreal: the very first edition of the Tall Ships on the Quays, four (4) days of exciting activities from September 16th to 19th, 2010. For this event, Montreal's Jacques-Cartier quay will be transformed into a "Maritime Village" and thus become the setting for an authentic maritime celebration where sails, wind and river are the thematic inspirations for spectacular artistic presentations.
For its first edition, this authentic maritime celebration on the Quays of the Old Port of Montreal welcomes five prestigious tall ships brimming with history and adventure.
The celebration also offers sensational entertainment for the whole family: Tall Ship visits, from 118 to 180 feet, daytime and night-time activities, live on-stage entertainment, Tall Ship illumination, a musical fireworks display - all at the Maritime Village and the Club Amiral, venues of choice for all sailors, captains and budding seafarers!
These majestic and historical vessels, the Roald Amundsen (Germany), the Bounty (United States), the Pride of Baltimore II (United States), the Unicorn (United States), and the Lynx (United States), will be returning from the prestigious Great Lakes Tall Ships Challenge 2010. The general public will have the great privilege to board and visit these ships, guided by their experienced and passionate crews.
