Target Canada Opens Three New Stores

Retailer continues Canadian expansion with new stores in Ontario and Quebec

MISSISSAUGA, ON, Aug. 1, 2014 /CNW/ - Target announced today the grand opening of three new stores located at Erin Mills Town Centre in Mississauga, ON; Park Place in Barrie, ON and Carrefour Candiac in Candiac, QC. The opening of the three new stores brings the total number Target stores open in Canada to 130.

"At Target we're always looking for ways to enhance the guest experience, including opening stores in new locations that make shopping even more convenient for our guests," said Mark Schindele, president Target Canada. "We look forward to serving our guests at these three new stores, two of which we built from the ground up."

The stores in Barrie and Candiac are new buildings. Target has opened six stores in Canada this year, three of which were built from the ground up. Three additional stores are scheduled to open later this fall.

Just in time for the busy back to school season, guests will be welcomed into bright, clean stores with wide aisles, exceptional guest service and trend-right merchandise at great prices. The three new stores will also feature a licensed Starbucks, as well as in-store pharmacies designed to provide guests with comprehensive patient-centered healthcare. The grand opening will take place on August 1 where guests will be treated to unbeatable deals and exclusive "new store" promotions to mark the grand opening. Target's flyer, containing additional savings, will also launch at these stores on August 1.

Each of the three new stores will carry an extensive range of Target owned and exclusive brands, as well limited time collaborations with Beaver Canoe (a member of the Roots Canada family); and ongoing collaborations such as the Nate Berkus Collection, Sonia Kashuk and Pixi beauty collections and Shaun White apparel.
