Target's departure predictable says union representing BC retail workers
VANCOUVER, Jan. 15, 2015 /CNW/ - "It's no surprise that Target was thin on staff and merchandise when they refused to hire Zeller's retail workers - some with 30 years experience running a successful retail operation in Canada," said Jason Mann, spokesperson for UFCW 1518.
Canadians had high hopes for Target's arrival north of the border, but soon learned that their 'new neighbour' fell short on delivery. With little experience of inventory management in Canada, Target soon had empty shelves, which led to empty stores. Target refused to hire the very people with the experience they needed: Zellers workers.
