WATERLOO, ON, Sept. 4, 2014 /CNW/ - TD has signed a five-year agreement with Communitech, a technology hub based in Waterloo Region, to explore innovation, with a particular focus on customer experience. The agreement covers a range of opportunities, including entrepreneurship, growth, international business development and women in technology.

"Our new lab will provide the opportunity to improve upon our legendary customer experience by exploring advanced technology solutions and collaborating with local startups and small- to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The program has additional facets that will benefit, develop and support startups, SMEs, and women in technology across Canada," she added.
"This agreement with TD will allow Communitech and the Canadian Digital Media Network to expand our offerings for startups, small and medium sized enterprises and women entrepreneurs in Waterloo Region and across the country," said Iain Klugman, CEO of Communitech. "It will also provide TD access to the unique ecosystem at the Communitech Hub, where they will work alongside tech companies of all sizes in developing new technologies for the financial services sector."
Additionally, TD will support the Women in Entrepreneurship initiative, which entails being the national Innovator Sponsor for the Women Entrepreneurs Online Mentorship Platform and Women Entrepreneurs Peer-to-Peer networking groups at five hubs across Canada, which will enable female mentoring relationships, collaboration, and networking.
Other elements of the agreement include platforms and opportunities for small- to medium-sized business enterprises to increase their experience, network and exposure to international markets and clients.
