TD Bank Group donates $50,000 to the Canadian Red Cross to help the victims of train explosion in Lac-Mégantic

MONTREAL, July 8, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - TD Bank Group will donate $50,000 to the Canadian Red Cross to support residents of the town of Lac-Mégantic.

"We are deeply saddened by the tragedy in Lac-Mégantic. The damage caused by the explosion and fires have left the entire community struggling to recover and our thoughts are with the victims of this disaster," said Christine Marchildon, Chair Quebec Market, TD Bank Group. "Our hope is that this donation, combined with the relief efforts of the Canadian Red Cross, will give residents the immediate assistance they need."
