TD Calgary Folk Music Festival sponsorship signals greater commitment to
Calgary
TD adds the Calgary Folk Music Festival to its growing list of Calgary sponsorships
CALGARY, July 19 /CNW/ - Indie singer songwriters, roots and country veterans, blues masters and TD. One of these things is not like the other, but they're coming together at the Calgary Folk Music Festival for the first time! From July 22 - 25, Calgarians will be stepping to the sounds of musical talent from around the world at Prince's Island Park.
"We've been supporting music festivals across Canada for years and this new sponsorship fits perfectly with our program by allowing us to connect with Calgarians and bring them together over the enjoyment of music," says Ron McInnis, Senior Vice President, Prairie Region, TD Canada Trust. "Ensuring our customers and communities have a comfortable experience is very important to us and what could be more comfortable than kicking back in the park with family and friends listening to great music?"
This music festival isn't the only way TD is showing its commitment to Calgary. In the last year, TD has opened four new branches and a major commercial banking centre in the city, has funded 25 local grass roots projects through the TD Friends of the Environment Foundation and continues to sponsor local events including the TD Cup at Spruce Meadows, GlobalFest and the GlobalFest Human Rights Forum.
"We're committed to this community and helping it prosper because this is where we live, work and do business," adds McInnis. "Calgarians are our neighbours, our customers and our employees and one way we can show our appreciation is by helping to bring great events like this Festival to the city."
As title sponsor of Stage 6, TD will be hosting musical talent from around the world, including Baskery, Steve Pineo, United Steelworkers of Montreal and Romantica. Festival goers can stop by the TD booth for an eco-friendly water bottle to stay hydrated throughout the day.
