TD Canada Trust celebrates grand opening of new branch in Winnipeg's Sage Creek community with a donation to Shamrock School outdoor green space
WINNIPEG, Dec. 14, 2013 /CNW/ - Today, TD Canada Trust celebrated the grand opening of the new, full-service branch in Winnipeg's Sage Creek neighbourhood with a $5,000 donation to the Shamrock School outdoor green space. Located at 50 Sage Creek Blvd, Unit 1300, the new branch will serve one of Winnipeg's newest and quickly growing residential neighborhoods.
"This new state-of-the-art branch will make banking even more comfortable and convenient for customers located in Winnipeg's South East end of town," said Monique Bateman, Senior Vice President, TD Canada Trust, Prairie Region. "The TD Friends of the Environment Foundation donation to a local environmental project is a tradition when opening a new branch, and the outdoor green space will help children develop an appreciation for the environment at an early age."
Features of the new branch include:
- An open concept design that helps TD serve customers better by moving financial specialists out from behind desks and right into the presence of customers.
- A community room designed for use by groups of customers including families, businesses and not-for-profit groups. This room is available free-of-charge and includes business services such as video conferencing capabilities, a printer and a fax machine
- Digital displays mounted throughout the branch to provide customers with current information about TD products and services.
- The customer lounge with a coffee station lets customers wait in comfort if they arrive early for an appointment or are waiting for their friends or family to complete their banking
Financial donation provides outdoor classroom for children
The Shamrock School parent advisory council has taken an active interest in addressing the greening of the school grounds to support learning, fitness, health and environmental awareness. The initiative will promote greater connections and learning in the outdoors through specific outdoor enhancement projects. Funds received will be used to offset costs for plants, shrubs and trees, while students will be actively engaged in the planting, growing, care and maintenance.
As part of TD Canada Trust's extended hours the branch is open Monday through Wednesday from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm; Thursday and Friday from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm; Saturday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm and Sunday from 11:00am to 4:00pm. The new branch is wheelchair accessible and features a full-service Green Machine® ATM available 24 hours a day.
