TD hits a high note as music festivals across the country ramp up
A Canadian musical tradition continues this summer as TD returns as title sponsor for the TD Music Festivals
TORONTO, June 15, 2012 /CNW/ - TD kicks off a popular Canadian summer tradition with the launch of TD Music Festivals, starting in Winnipeg and continuing through eight cities across the country. Music lovers of all ages will have the chance to join their family, friends and neighbours outdoors and enjoy the musical styles of legends like Natalie Cole, Janelle Monae, Esperanza Spalding, Ziggy Marley and other musical powerhouses from the world of jazz, R&B and folk.
"TD strives to enhance the communities in which we serve and we know that music plays an important role in the lives of our customers and their communities," said Dominic Mercuri, Executive Vice President, Community, Environment and Chief Marketing Officer. "TD Music Festivals are a terrific way to bring people together to share their love of great music and we're very pleased to enhance the festival experience this year by launching the TD Community Song program."
Other exciting ways to experience the TD Music Festivals throughout the summer can be found on www.tdlivemusic.com.
The TD Community Song program
The TD Community Song program invites attendees to build a unique piece of music through an innovative and fun 'hands-on' experience. At TD-sponsored music festivals across the country, attendees will find a TD booth where they can be filmed playing percussion instruments. The recordings from each festival will then be turned into eight unique pieces that showcase the artistry and love of music in the local community. Everyone will be able to enjoy the results later this summer when the community songs are shared on www.tdlivemusic.com, along with a behind-the-scenes 'making of' video.
'Sounds of the Street' event
On Tuesday, May 29, TD orchestrated a 'Sounds of the Street' event at Toronto's Dundas Square, where passersby of all ages were invited to pick up a green baton and conduct a 20-piece orchestra from a TD podium. Footage captured from the event is currently available on www.tdlivemusic.com.
