TD kicks off jazz season in Montreal - TD "Takes 5" with live jazz music in
five downtown branches
MONTREAL, June 22 /CNW Telbec/ - TD will greet customers at five downtown branches with a cool jazz ambience to mark the Montreal International Jazz Festival. TD is also adding some new facilities to the Festival site to improve the visitors' experience. The TD Comfort Place provides a green oasis where people can relax between shows. TD Friends of the Environment Foundation bike zones provide 300 parking spots for cyclists coming to the festival. And the Friends of the Festival Tent will offer a number of complimentary conveniences to Friends of the Festival cardholders.
"Last year, millions of visitors attended the Montreal Jazz Fest. This year, TD will offer new amenities to make their experience even more comfortable," says Bernard Dorval, Deputy Chair, TD Canada Trust and Group Head of Insurance and Global Development, TD Bank Financial Group. "Parking spaces for bicycles, new rest areas and a tent for Friends of the Festival will make the whole festival area more user-friendly. The jazz beat will even reach our branches, with original jazz programming in selected TD locations."
A land of jazz and festival fans
A recent survey on Canadians and jazz showed that nearly 75% of Quebecers feel that festivals and street music are synonymous with summer. Interestingly, this percentage holds true for the rest of Canada as well. Quebecers know more about jazz than you might think. According to the survey, a third of Quebecers listen to jazz regularly and almost 60% say they can recognize jazz when they hear it. That percentage is also about the same for the rest of Canada.
TD and jazz
As festival season heats up in the city, the Montreal International Jazz Festival will have Montrealers grooving to the beat from June 25 to July 6. For the first time, in honour of its 150th anniversary in Quebec, TD is the new co-presenting sponsor. TD's involvement in nine major festivals across the country and numerous local festivals is part of a Canada-wide commitment to music which runs until 2014.
