MONTREAL, Nov. 20, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - Teachers at Dawson College will denounce the unjust declassification of cegep teaching by the Treasury Board Thursday November 21 at the main entrance of Dawson College, 4001 de Maisonneuve, from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. It appears that someone who resembles Stéphane Bédard, the President of the Treasury Board, will attend to hand out peanuts to the teachers as a sign of things to come. This action is part of escalation of pressure tactics begun in October regarding salary relativity in the public sector.
The Dawson Teachers' Union (DTU) has more than 750 members and is affiliated to the Fédération nationale des enseignantes et des enseignants du Québec (FNEEQ). FNEEQ has over 33,000 members in the cegeps, universities and private educational institutions. FNEEQ represents 85% of cegep teachers.
