Team Full Tilt's Erik Seidel Elected Into Poker Hall of Fame
- Eight-time WSOP Bracelet Winner to be Inducted Next Month
DUBLIN, Oct. 20 /CNW/ - Erik Seidel will join the greatest names in poker after being elected to the Poker Hall of Fame.
The eight-time WSOP gold bracelet winner will be officially inducted into poker's most prestigious institution in November, along with fellow inductee, Dan Harrington.
Seidel was elected after poker fans cast their votes online between July 1st and August 31th, 2010, to nominate ten players for entry into the Hall of Fame. The nominees were then judged by the 16 living members of the Hall of Fame and a 17-person media panel, who chose the two players they deemed most worthy of the honor of entry into the hall.
A founding member of Team Full Tilt, Seidel has been a towering presence in poker since finishing second in the WSOP Main Event in 1988 - a tournament immortalized in the feature film, "Rounders". He collected his first WSOP gold bracelet in 1992 and has been a popular figure throughout the years.
Seidel's eight bracelets came over a period of 16 years and across five poker disciplines, a testament to his enduring passion and mastery of poker. He becomes the first member of Team Full Tilt to be elected into the Poker Hall of Fame.
Seidel's most recent WSOP bracelet came in 2007, with victory in the $5K World Championship No-Limit Deuce-to-Seven Lowball event. His tally of eight bracelets puts him joint fifth on the all-time list of WSOP bracelets, while his 60 WSOP cashes has him placed joint fourth.
