Teamsters Canada Rail Conference continues to bargain with Canadian Pacific
OTTAWA, Feb. 14, 2015 /CNW/ - Teamsters Canada Rail Conference continues to bargain with CP with the assistance of Federal Mediation and Conciliation Services (FMCS).
"The Teamsters are here to bargain" explains TCRC President Douglas Finnson. Despite this being the last day prior to possible job action, we are scheduled to bargain today. "There is no reason why we cannot negotiate an agreement" says Finnson.
Erroneous reports in the press are misrepresenting the situation. There are no "sources" that have access to any credible information. The Federal Minister is involved, FMCS is involved, and they are all aware of the real situation.
Meetings continue today with the objective of successful completion of an agreement.
The Teamsters represents 115,000 members in Canada in all trades. The International Brotherhood of Teamsters, with which Teamsters Canada is affiliated, has 1.4 million members in North America.
