CALGARY, March 23, 2016 /CNW/ - TECTERRA is pleased to announce the keynote speakers for the inaugural TECNOVATE event, an evolution of the organization's annual Geomatics Showcase.
Calgary's own Manjit Minhas, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Minhas Breweries and Distillery, and judge of CBC's Dragons' Den, along with Entrepreneur and Venture Capitalist Leonard Brody, will join TECTERRA and its exhibitors at TECNOVATE16 on June 22 at the Calgary TELUS Convention Centre.
Formerly known as the TECTERRA Geomatics Showcase, TECNOVATE will feature the commercial potential of companies and exhibitors with a geospatial focus from across Canada.
"We are excited to launch TECNOVATE, the evolution of our annual Geomatics Showcase," says Dr. Mohamed Abousalem, Chief Executive Officer, TECTERRA Inc. "Having Manjit Minhas and Leonard Brody as this year's keynote speakers will add the right flavour and inspiration for the entrepreneurs and business professionals attending and exhibiting at the event."
Exhibitors and attendees can expect a new format for TECNOVATE16. The annual tradeshow has expanded to include sponsorship from various sectors and will also feature exhibitors outside of TECTERRA's funded portfolio companies. Any Canadian company developing and marketing geospatial technology is encouraged to exhibit and attend.
"By opening up the tradeshow, we are bringing more value to TECTERRA's portfolio companies, and also giving other business professionals within the geospatial realm the opportunity to network, build alliances and develop commercial opportunities, advancing the geospatial industry within Canada," adds Dr. Abousalem.
