Breakfast Television personality to host city's largest TEDx event on October 21
VANCOUVER, Oct. 10, 2012 /CNW/ - TEDxVancouver is pleased to announce Riaz Meghji, co-host of Citytv's Breakfast Television Vancouver, as the official host of this year's program dubbed, "Confluence." On Sunday, October 21, 2012 at the Orpheum Theatre, Meghji will take this year's attendees behind the talks to expose and reveal who this year's speakers really are and how their ideas were shaped.
"I am a firm believer every conversation counts and it's exciting to be a part of a production with a dialogue that will enlighten and possibly change perspectives," said Riaz Meghji, 2012 host of TEDxVancouver. "This year's line-up of speakers is very impressive and I'm honoured to share the Orpheum's stage with them on October 21st."
Born and raised in Delta, BC, the always charming Meghji always had a love of educating and engaging audiences, starting in 2002 working in radio and TV, including Z953FM and MTV Canada after graduating from Simon Fraser University. Following several successful hosting stints in Canada's media epi-centre, Toronto with Sun TV, Bell Media and the Toronto International Film Festival, he returned to Vancouver in 2008 to wake up Vancouverites weekdays hosting Citytv's Breakfast Television.
Off camera, Meghji is a thriving philanthropist, serving as co-founder of 1Karma. He also supports many organizations, including the Aga Khan Foundation Canada. Additionally, he is writing his first book, travels and stays active with Crossfit, ball hockey and yoga.
