Telefilm announces 28 Canadian companies attending Game Connection
MONTREAL, March 8 /CNW Telbec/ - Telefilm Canada is pleased to announce that 28 Canadian companies are attending the U.S. edition of Game Connection opening today in San Francisco. Held annually during the Game Developer Conference (GDC), Game Connection is an international marketplace for game designers, service providers and publishers looking to build business partnerships. Twenty of the participating Canadian companies have received financial support from Telefilm to attend the event.
"Attending Game Connection enables Canadian game industry companies to forge alliances with foreign partners, one of the keys to success in a highly competitive environment, where international development helps strengthen the industry's capacity and ensure its viability," said Sheila de La Varende, Director, National and International Business Development at Telefilm Canada. In addition to visibility under the Canada banner, Canadian Game Connection participants will benefit from a networking event organized by the Canadian Consulate in San Francisco in partnership with Telefilm Canada for some 300 people, mainly industry representatives.
