This Waltz
MONTREAL, April 15 /CNW Telbec/ - Telefilm Canada announces it will be supporting Sarah Polley's new feature film project, Take this Waltz, set to begin production in Toronto in July. This is the organization's latest selective investment decision under the national stream of the Canada Feature Film Fund for English-language productions.
"Sarah Polley is among Canada's brightest directors, and we are thrilled to be collaborating with her again on her new project," stated Stephanie Azam, National Feature Film Executive at Telefilm Canada.
"Take This Waltz is sure to connect with moviegoers here in Canada and around the world and ultimately, this is what the Canada Feature Film Fund is about," concluded Michel Pradier, Director of Project Financing at Telefilm.
Multi-talented Canadian writer, director and actress Sarah Polley wrote the original script for her new feature film, a romantic comedy titled Take this Waltz. In 2008, her directorial debut Away from Her had earned Polley a Best Adapted Screenplay Academy Award nomination. That same year she received a Genie Award for Best Achievement in Direction coupled with the Claude Jutra Award recognizing outstanding achievement by a first-time feature film director.
Take This Waltz is produced by Susan Cavan (Accent Entertainment) and Sarah Polley. It will be distributed in Canada by Mongrel Media.
