Telefilm Canada supports 34th annual World Film Festival
MONTREAL, Aug. 10 /CNW Telbec/ - Telefilm Canada is pleased to announce its support of the 34th annual World Film Festival (WFF). Now in its 34th year, WFF offers a wide-ranging international program designed to encourage cultural diversity. The Festival also serves as a forum for industry talent of all stripes.
"From the outset, WFF has given both established and emerging filmmakers the opportunity to share their work with audiences and garner attention from local and international critics," said Sheila de La Varende, Director, National and International Business Development at Telefilm Canada. "By supporting WFF, Telefilm helps Canadian cinema thrive and expand its international reach."
From August 26 to September 6, 2010, WFF will present films from around the world, including several from Canada. Telefilm-funded Route 132, by Louis Bélanger (The Timekeeper, Gaz Bar Blues), will open the Festival.
