TELUS investing $9 million in Ottawa this year to expand advanced broadband
services

OTTAWA, April 19 /CNW/ - TELUS today announced it is investing $9 million in Ottawa in 2010 as it continues extending the reach and speed of its advanced wireline and wireless broadband services.

"Since 2000, TELUS has made $18.6 billion in operating and capital investments to deliver advanced technology and services across Ontario," said Terry Nemeth, vice-president of sales, public sector for Ontario and Atlantic. "This year, as part of our investment across Ontario, we are focusing $9 million on bringing the benefits of some of the world's best telecommunications technology to our customers right here in Ottawa."

This year TELUS will also continue to expand its wireless broadband network throughout the province, building on the November 2009 launch of the fastest and biggest wireless network in Ontario and Canada*. TELUS' HSPA network enables speeds of up to 21 Mbps† and reaches 93 per cent of the Canadian population (http://www.telusmobility.com/en/ON/network/about.shtml).

The capital investment disclosed in this release is consistent with TELUS' overall capital expenditure guidance for 2010.
