TELUS provides live web stream for Alberta Flood Aid Benefit Concert

CALGARY, Aug. 14, 2013 /CNW/ - TELUS will webcast Thursday's Alberta Flood Aid benefit concert live and free of charge for viewers across Canada.
This is the largest benefit concert of its size to be live-streamed on the Internet. Anyone unable to attend in person is invited to tune into TELUS' YouTube channel for the free web broadcast.
"The floods that hit Alberta in June were catastrophic. Canada watched as one of the worst natural disasters in our nation's history devastated homes and highways across our beloved province," said Andrea Goertz, TELUS Chief Communications and Sustainability Officer. "TELUS is proud to support the organizers and the artists involved in raising funds to help with long-term recovery efforts. We invite Canadians to join us for Thursday night's event by enjoying the webcast and listening to legendary Canadian acts make some great music and do some good."
The four hour event, happening in Calgary at McMahon Stadium, kicks off at 6 p.m. MT (8 p.m. ET) Thursday.

The Alberta Flood Aid benefit concert includes artists Jann Arden, Randy Bachman, Tom Cochrane, Matthew Good, Colin James, Loverboy, Corb Lund, Nickelback, Johnny Reid, The Sadies, The Sheepdogs and Ian Tyson.
Additionally, TELUS customers are encouraged to text ABFLOOD to 20222 during the show to donate $10 to The Calgary Foundation Flood Rebuilding Fund. With help from its customers, TELUS will continue to contribute to the long-term recovery efforts happening right now in Alberta.
