TORONTO, Dec. 4, 2013 /CNW/ - TELUS captured the Overall Award of Excellence for the fourth straight year at the Corporate Reporting Awards, presented annually by the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada).
For more than 60 years, the awards have recognized the best reporting models in the country.

TELUS also won the Award of Excellence in the Communications and Media sector and received an Honourable Mention in both the Financial Reporting and Sustainable Development Reporting categories.

In total, 22 awards with winners from both the corporate and public sectors were handed out this evening at a special gala in Toronto (a complete list of recipients is below).
TELUS was not the only multiple winner.
PotashCorp captured Awards of Excellence in the Mining sector and in both the Financial Reporting and Electronic Disclosure categories. Suncor Energy won two Awards of Excellence, winning in the Oil & Gas sector and in the Sustainable Development Reporting category. Royal Bank of Canada received double recognition as well, collecting the Award of Excellence in the Financial Services sector and an Honourable Mention in the Corporate Governance category.
Turning to the Crown Corporation categories, the 2013 winners were CBC/Radio-Canada (Large-Federal), Defence Construction Canada (Small-Federal), and SaskTel (Provincial).
"The awards program goes beyond identifying and honouring the winners; it aims to promote the best reporting practices," explained Dancey. "We salute all of the participants and recognize their efforts in playing an active role in advancing corporate reporting in Canada."
