REGINA, June 12, 2013 /CNW/ - The Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Union of Canada (CEP) has reached a tentative collective agreement with SaskTel on behalf of its more than 3,000 members from Local 1-S, 2-S and 3.
Details of the proposed agreement will be released following a ratification vote by the membership.
"Congratulations to the members of the bargaining committees for their tireless efforts over the past weeks and months," said CEP Western Region Vice-President Jim Britton.
The current collective agreement expired March 16, 2013.
The CEP members work in customer service, installations, repairs, sales and administrative functions.
CEP represents 9,000 workers in Saskatchewan in several key sectors including telecommunications, potash, mining, energy, printing, broadcasting and construction. It has 120,000 workers nationwide.
