MediaCorp Canada Inc. recognizes Teranet for its exceptional workplace culture
TORONTO, Dec. 13, 2017 /CNW/ - MediaCorp Canada Inc. announced today that Teranet has been named one of Greater Toronto's Top Employers. The annual competition recognizes the best companies in the Greater Toronto Area by evaluating work environments across several categories including training and skills development, community involvement, health, financial, and family benefits as well as vacation and compensation.
"We are very pleased to be named one of Toronto's Top Employers," said Elgin Farewell, President and CEO, Teranet Inc. "A great workplace is defined by the collective efforts of its team. We employ brilliant and talented people and thanks to them, our company has been recognized in this important way."
Teranet's top employer award is based on a number of factors, including:
- Supporting employees who are new mothers with maternity leave top-up payments, ranging from 80 per cent to 93 per cent of salary for up to 17 weeks
- Investing in long-term employee education with tuition subsidies for courses directly and indirectly related to an employee's role (to $1,500 per year)
- Enabling employees to showcase their innovative spirit by participating in a Continuous Improvement Competition and pledging up to $150,000 to implement projects stemming from the competition
"Teranet's culture of inclusiveness, flexibility and fun help create a supportive work environment for employees," said Nadim Kara, Chief Human Resources Officer, Teranet Inc. "Through company supported programs such as our robust social committee, continuous improvement efforts and volunteer opportunities, employees are encouraged to get involved and feel proud to work here."
