TORONTO and MARSEILLE, France, Nov. 22, 2018 /CNW/ - Foraco International SA (the "Company" or "Foraco") has issued the following statement:
Last night at 2 am local time, a group of terrorists attacked the small building where a Foraco team was sleeping and killed 7 of them, plus one civil servant. 5 other Foraco employees were wounded and 2 are in serious condition. The building had been chosen in agreement with the commander of the military escort which was insuring Foraco personnel security.
Foraco is currently drilling a pair of deep water wells for the Niger Ministry of Water for a refugees camp to improve their quality of life in this very remote region.
The Company is actively cooperating with the authorities to evacuate the injured personnel to the nearest suitable hospital and is setting up support for the families of the victims.
