MISSISSAUGA, ON,
Sept. 21
/CNW/ - Canadian amateur photographers across the country are invited to become part of Orangina's unique and iconic history through Orangina's The Art of Refreshment photography contest. Amateur photographers are invited to submit entries for their chance to win great prizes and the chance to have their photos become part of Orangina's history.
For over 58 years, Orangina has been associated with innovative artwork and advertising and now Canadians can add their mark. Artists such as Bernard Villemot,
Michel Berger
, Serge Gainsbourg,
Terry Gilliam
, Alain Chabat, and fashion designer Jean-Paul Goude have all been involved in Orangina's fantastic and modern advertising story.
"With the Orangina Art of Refreshment contest, we want Canadian photographers to capture the essence of the Orangina beverage, bringing it to life through photography," said Libier Gomez, Vice President, Marketing,
Canada
Dry Mott's Inc. "Orangina's unique attributes - the orange pulp, the bottle shape and vivid logo - are all great foundations for photography. They reflect the fruit, sunshine, colour and Mediterranean origins behind the success of this unique beverage."
The contest runs from
September 4, 2009
until
October 16, 2009
and is open to Canadian amateur photographers. The contest has three categories:
- the look and feel of Orangina,
- the emotional essence of Orangina
- the 296 mL iconic bottle
Entrants can submit up to five (5) submissions for each of the three categories for a total of 15 photographs. Rules and regulations for the contest can be found at www.theartofrefreshment.ca.
This is a great opportunity for Canadian photographers to put their creativity to the test," said Korby Banner, one of the contest judges. "The challenge of bringing an object to life in a photograph by using colour, texture and emotion is very difficult, but it can result in some very innovative and excellent photographs."
Judges for the contest include Korby Banner,
Toronto
;
Michael Desjardins
Vancouver
; Benoît Desjardins,
Montreal
and
Noah Fallis
,
Calgary
. After the judges have selected the 45 semi-finalists, they will look to the public for some additional input to help them narrow down the field as they begin the process of identifying the final winner. The grand prize winner and 10 runners-up will be announced in early December. The Grand Prize Winner will receive
$2,500
and each of the ten runners-up will receive
$500
. Winning artwork may be incorporated into Orangina future marketing and communication activities.
