TFO series Les Bleus de Ramville wins Award for Excellence in Title Design at the SXSW Film Awards in Austin, Texas! Français
TORONTO, March 15, 2012 /CNW/ - Groupe Média TFO is proud to announce that the opening credits for its television series Les Bleus de Ramville has won the Award for Excellence in Title Design at the prestigious annual SXSW Film Awards ceremony.
Currently aired on TFO on Thursday evenings at 8:00pm, the series Les Bleus de Ramville was in competition with the opening credits for 17 other international productions, including The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, American Horror Story, Game of Thrones, The New Girl, The Adventures of Tintin, and Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows.
An original production of the Oily Film Company, the opening credits for the series employ images representing the key theme of the series, which is hockey. The Award for Excellence in Title Design recognizes the credits' exceptionally well crafted graphic design, which combines soft music with strong images of moments in the game, emotions that it arouses, and a community rallying around its team.
Tracy Legault, Executive Producer of the series and founder of Carte Blanche Films, the Ontario-based company that produces the show, had the following reaction: "We are very proud that our partner, Oily Film Company, has achieved such success and recognition at SXSW. This award is all the more prestigious in that the jury consists of people in the industry."
Marie Masse, Managing Director for Web/TV Content at Groupe Média TFO, responded with equal enthusiasm: "We warmly congratulate the entire Les Bleus de Ramville team and Carte Blanche Films for having received this award. The SXSW Film Awards are a prestigious international competition that has today placed the spotlight on the Ontario talent behind an Ontario production, something about which we can only be overjoyed."
The awards ceremony was held on Monday, March 12 in Austin, Texas, during the annual SXSW (South by Southwest) Film Conference and Festival, which brings together the worlds of music, independent film, and emerging technologies. The SXSW Film Design Awards were presented at this ceremony to film posters and opening title sequences that were selected as the best by juries of professionals and by audience vote.
The series Les Bleus de Ramville follows the members of a senior hockey team's fan club in the fictional town of Ramville, in northern Ontario. The series began airing on TFO on January 19, 2012. The episodes are also available on line at tfo.org and ramville.tv.
