TFO to present Award for Creativity at 31st edition of Montreal's International Festival of Films on Art (FIFA)
TORONTO, Feb. 26, 2013 /CNW/ - Groupe Média TFO has announced that it will be partnering with Montreal's International Festival of Films on Art (FIFA) again this year, after the two organizations joined forces for the first time at last year's edition of the festival. And again this year— FIFA's 31st edition—TFO will be presenting the Award for Creativity at the festival's awards ceremony, to be held on March 24. This award recognizes a film that innovates and that deals with a subject in an original fashion.
The team from TFO's film showcase, CinéTFO, will also be on hand to cover the festival. As Yves Étienne Massicotte, series producer at Groupe Média TFO, explains: "CinéTFO is a rich platform for film content, including not only the films that we air on TFO but also our programs about film—Plein les vues and Arrêt court—and our web site, tfo.org/cine. We are delighted to be working so closely with an institution like FIFA, with which we share the same passion for film."
CinéTFO's film programming focuses on art films, contemporary films, classic films, and films that have won awards at the world's most prestigious film festivals. In short, CinéTFO offers film lovers the chance to enjoy the festival experience right in their own living rooms.
Before, during, and after the festival, through April 27, TFO will be airing several episodes of its documentary series Un film et son époque at 8:00 PM on Saturdays. Each episode examines a film that is emblematic in the way that it reflects the society of its times. Some of the films to be included are Clockwork Orange, Some Like It Hot, and All About My Mother. TFO will also be running a Facebook contest for film lovers throughout the festival to celebrate this common programming.
The 31st annual edition of FIFA will be held from March 14 to 24, 2013 in Montreal.
