TGIF: CTV Arrests Viewers with CSI: NY and BLUE BLOODS on Friday Night

TORONTO, Sept. 27 /CNW/ - Who says nobody watches TV on Fridays? With 2 million+ audiences at both 9 and 10 p.m. ET Friday night, CTV continued to rule Premiere Week, including 2.126 million viewers for the series premiere of BLUE BLOODS. The new drama starring Tom Selleck and Donnie Wahlberg lands in a statistical tie for the #1 new series of the Fall so far, with preliminary overnight data placing the premiere just 10,000 viewers less than the debut of HAWAII FIVE-0 (2.136 million). Winning the night overall for CTV was the season premiere of CSI: NY with 2.33 million viewers. The series premiere of BLUE BLOODS is available now, on demand, on the CTV Video Player at CTV.ca.
BLUE BLOODS had nearly 3.5 times the audience of its closest competition at 10 p.m., OUTLAW on Global/NBC (612,000). BLUE BLOODS also won Saturday night, when 926,000 viewers tuned in for an encore broadcast at 9 p.m. on CTV. In all, 5.46 million viewers watched some or all of the premiere on Friday or Saturday night.
At 9 p.m., CSI: NY was the #1 show of the day in Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver with total viewers and the key A25-54, A18-49 and A18-34 demos.
With five times the audience of Global and 3.5 times the audience of CBC in primetime, CTV delivered the Top 4 programs of the day in primetime with total viewers and all key demos: a repeat of HUMAN TARGET (#3) delivered 1.06 million at 8 p.m. while BIG BANG THEORY (#4) drew 859,000 viewers at 7:30 p.m.
