Thames Bluewater Métis Council signs its charter with Métis Nation of Ontario this Saturday
LONDON, ON, Nov. 23, 2018 /CNW/ - On Saturday, November 24, 2018, the recently formed Thames Bluewater Métis Council will sign its formal charter with the Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO). The Thames Bluewater Métis Council represents MNO citizens living in London and area and will be the 30th MNO council chartered MNO in Ontario.
The MNO is the government of Métis citizens in Ontario and represents Métis at the local, provincial and national levels. The MNO has approximately 20,000 citizens in Ontario and operates services and programming for MNO citizens through 32 offices in Ontario. The charter will be signed by MNO President Margaret Froh and Thames Bluewater Métis Council President Kathleen Anderson at 12:30 pm in the Springbank Community Centre at 205 Wonderland Road South in London. Peter Rivers, the Region 9 Councilor on the Provisional Council of the Métis Nation of Ontario (PCMNO), which includes the London area, will also be participating in the ceremony. Following the charter signing there will be a social gathering that will feature Métis culture and performance.
