Thank you for the toys! - Montrealers help make Christmas delightful for our
young patients
MONTREAL, Dec. 23 /CNW Telbec/ - Every year at The Montreal Children's Hospital of the McGill University Health Centre, we look to members of the community to help make Christmas special for the young children who are not well enough to go home for the holidays. This year was no exception. In an effort to make sure we had enough toys and goodies for Christmas Day, we made an urgent appeal to the public last week and asked Montrealers to pick up extra dollies, stuffed animals, games and trucks so that we might be able to distribute toys to each and every child.
The response we received from the media, various retail chains, toy manufacturers, corporate groups and individuals was beyond our expectations. The generosity and kindness of all Montrealers who went out of their way to drop off bundles of toys for our young patients and spread the word about our cause was a terrific example of the power of community.
Thanks to your abundant donations, we now have more than enough gifts to distribute on the morning of the 25th, with a few to spare for birthdays, various milestones and other celebrations throughout the year.
Without your continued support, we would be unable to give each and every patient a reason to smile this Christmas. We wish to thank each and every family, individual and corporation who donated their time and helped make the season a little bit brighter for our patients this year. And thank you very much to the media for getting the word out!
From all of the staff here at The Montreal Children's Hospital, and on behalf of our patients and their families, we wish you a very happy and safe holiday season.
