MONTREAL, May 17, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - The Association Industrielle de l'Est de Montréal (AIEM), with a focus on sustainable development, is in favor of an expansion of crude oil supply options for Montreal-East, including sources from Western Canada. It therefore supports the project to Re-reverse the flow of line 9 from Sarnia to Montreal.
Adhering to principles of responsible and sustainable development, the AIEM believes that this project strikes an adequate balance between environmental, economic and social requirements. The AIEM believes, this new source of oil supply would stimulate the vitality of the petroleum and petrochemical industries in Montreal, have no significant additional environmental impacts at the local level and would benefit the whole community of Montreal-East.
