Option consommateurs proudly operates the program for Greater Montreal
MONTREAL, Feb. 6, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - From now until March 2013, Option consommateurs will be offering free energy efficiency consultation visits as part of the Éconologis program. Close to 2000 low-income households in the Greater Montreal area will be able to take advantage of this service to improve the comfort of their homes and face the approaching cold-weather season head-on. This year will mark the 14th season Option consommateurs has been operating the program in Greater Montreal.
Éconologis visits
"During our home visits, homeowners and renters receive personalized energy efficiency advice and minor home improvements, such as the installation of caulking or weatherstripping on windows and doors," explains Lisa-Marie Hein, Head of Energy Efficiency Department at Option consommateurs. "Our advisors analyse the consumers' energy consumption bills and make some necessary adjustments to improve the home comfort of those benefitting from the program."
The Éconologis, c'est gagnant ! contest
This year, in order to raise awareness among low-income families about the necessity of properly insulating one's home, Options consommateurs is launching the contest Éconologis, c'est gagnant ! This contest aims to encourage those who receive a home visit to promote the service among their friends and family. Prizes at stake include a $1,000 gift voucher toward an ENERGY STAR refrigerator or one grocery voucher worth $500 and one pharmacy voucher worth $250, respectively.
