MONTREAL, Sept. 24, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - Once again, Leucan has discovered just how generous Quebecers can be. The Leucan Shaved Head Challenge, presented by Jean Coutu, exceeded the objectives set out for this year with a total of $4.7 million raised for the cause. Over 9,000 participants put a price on their heads for this 12th edition of the Challenge to show their solidarity with cancer-stricken children and their families.
The spokesperson of Leucan's signature fundraising event, stand-up comedian Dominic Paquet, was rendered speechless by the dedication of participants: "I am sincerely impressed with the generosity and solidarity of all participants and donors of the Leucan Shaved Head Challenge. The Challenge brings together children and grandparents, men and women, and illustrates just how great a difference we can make together for the 3,600 families with cancer-stricken children counting on Leucan's support. My heart-felt thanks to all!"
Leucan would like to thank its presenting partner, Jean Coutu, provincial sponsor, Fédération des producteurs d'œufs de consommation du Québec, provincial spokesperson, Dominic Paquet, regional partners, as well as all the participants, sponsors, contributors, volunteers, and Honorary Presidents.
