SAINT-SAUVEUR, QC, Feb. 7, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - FitSpirit is celebrating the 5th anniversary of its huge winter party: Snow Challenge. Known as the biggest snowboard and downhill skiing event for teens in North America, the 2012 edition of Snow Challenge will welcome a total of 450 participants at two sites—Mont Avila on February 10 and Stoneham on February 24 as part of the Snowboard Jamboree.
A CHALLENGE THAT BRINGS EVERYONE TOGETHER
Snow Challenge is a day of activities for girls where winter sports take centre stage! In a completely relaxed atmosphere, the participants, aged 13 to 17 years old, will have the opportunity to take ski and snowboard lessons from inspiring women: for the event, FitSpirit is bringing together about 40 athletes and mentors, as well as about 15 instructors at each site. In the afternoon, games, prizes, activities and a visit from a surprise guest will cap off this unforgettable day.
FITSPIRIT'S PREMIER WINTER EVENT
According to FitSpirit President and Founder, Claudine Labelle, "Adopting a healthy and active lifestyle means finding fun and original activities to do year round. Along with our FitSpirit school program, which challenges girls to complete a 5 km run, it's also important to promote winter sports for girls, in the fun and inclusive way that FitSpirit does so well." It's the reason why Snow Challenge has become the definitive "winter party for girls!" in Quebec.
ENTHUSIASTIC PARTNERS
Snow Challenge is one of the events which truly highlights the versatility and dynamism of FitSpirit. "With this event, we're proving that we can really help teenagers discover hundreds of ways to have fun, no matter what the temperature or time of year," says François Côté, President, TELUS Québec and TELUS Health Solutions, and Chairman of the Board of FitSpirit. "The many partners and sponsors of the event understand that and are really enthusiastic to be on board. TELUS is proud to be one of the partners of Snow Challenge. I would also like to thank Saputo, ROXY, Cool! magazine, Mont Saint-Sauveur, Stoneham Ski Resort and the Snowboard Jamboree, who are joining us for the 2012 edition of the Challenge."
